Simulator Support Engineer

To strengthen the Operations team VSTEP is looking for a Simulator support engineer. As a Simulator support engineer at VSTEP you will be supporting our clients and Simulator Engineers on IT related issues that occur during preparation, installation and training of our simulators. You will be in close contact with our Simulator engineers and Software Developers to standardize the simulator computer hardware and Windows environment to maximize the performance of our simulator products.

Job description

Your daily activities will be: 

  • Assist with the installation of simulators 
  • Handle (remote) support for our simulators installed worldwide 
  • Advise on standardizing our simulator hardware  
  • Implement and validate new hardware and software (Windows) components for simulator training 

Requirements

You have: 

  • A degree in ICT level 3 or 4  
  • Good understanding of computer networking 
  • Affinity with computer hardware solutions 
  • Good communication skills in English and preferably also in Dutch
  • An enthusiastic and quality-oriented attitude
  • A Dutch working permit
  • Technical knowledge of computers and computers networking 
  • A European driving license, category B

You are: 

  • A team player, but also able to operate independently  
  • Able to work in an organized manner 
  • Available 32-40 hours a week  
  • Easy to communicate with and able to communicate with clients 
  • Proactively willing to keep your knowledge up to date 
  • Interested to learn new technologies 
  • Able to share your knowledge with your colleagues 
  • Flexible to travel and work on location if req

Nice to have:

  • Microsoft or CompTIA certificates 
  • Affinity with virtual reality and real-time simulations
  • Knowledge of Marine equipment
