Rotterdam, 28 November 2017 – After 15 years of dedicated service, VSTEP’s CEO and co-founder Pjotr van Schothorst decided that the time has come to step down as chief executive officer. “The company has made a tremendous development since we started 15 years ago and after the delivery of the first full mission bridge simulator in 2009. Now, after being awarded with the biggest contract in the history of VSTEP, the company is ready to make a next step”.

This next step will be made with a new CEO, who is familiar with the company’s vision, products & people, and also a founder of the company, Henk van den Berg. With over 40 years of experience in the maritime industry, Henk van den Berg is already active as managing director at VSTEP.

“Pjotr has lead the company through some stormy weather, but managed to build a brand and product with international presence. An achievement which he can be proud of and we as a company thank him for!” – Henk van den Berg, CEO VSTEP.

“The developments at VSTEP are continuing with a vision to be a leading maritime simulator manufacturer that listens to their customers’ needs. This is what we did since we started in the maritime simulation industry and will be doing way after this day.” Henk van den Berg explains. “With the new NAUTIS and upcoming RescueSim releases, we are proving the capacity we have with the skills of our people and the focus VSTEP has, to be the leader in maritime simulation and virtual training.”
