Rotterdam, 13 June 2018 – VSTEP recently delivered a Desktop setup of its premium NAUTIS maritime simulator. The delivery was made to SEACOR Island Lines, a subsidiary of SEACOR Holdings Inc. The simulator will allow SEACOR Island Lines to effectively train its employees in a safe and immersive environment.
SEACOR Holdings Inc. was founded in 1989 with the aim to provide customers all over the world with marine transportation services of the highest quality. It has since developed into a large parent company with several diverse subsidiaries. SEACOR Holdings Inc.’s main services include ocean and inland transportation and logistics services.
SEACOR Holdings Inc. recognizes the importance of safety and training, as is evidenced by one of its subsidiary firms, Witt O’ Brien’s. Witt O’ Brien’s specializes in preparing governmental and private parties for emergency situations. As a world-class maritime training simulator, NAUTIS corresponds strongly with SEACOR’s business units and principles of safety.
The NAUTIS simulator was delivered to SEACOR Island Lines, one of SEACOR Holding’s ocean transportation lines. SEACOR Island Lines engages in marine transportation from the United States to the Bahamas and the Turks and Caicos. In order to optimize the accuracy of the training, VSTEP delivered the complete environment of the Bahamas, which is one of the largest environments the library contains. This will ensure that the trainees are familiarized with their challenging sailing environment in addition to being trained in the operation of the SEACOR vessels.
